Finance Minister AMA Muhith said former education minister ASHK Sadek was an enlightened personality who had taken a number of initiatives for the development of the country’s education.
“ASHK Sadek was an enlightened personality . . . he was a progressive man with strong belief in democratic spirit,” Muhith said this on Friday while speaking at a discussion meeting organized by Khulna Bibhagiya Samity in observance of the 7th death anniversary of ASHK Sadek.
Prime Minister’s economic affairs adviser Dr Mashiur Rahman chaired the meeting while state minister for youth and sports Biren Shikder, Monirul Islam MP, Abdur Rouf MP, ICT secretary Nazrul Islam Khan, additional police commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police Sheikh Mohammad Maruf Hasan, human rights leader Abdur Rahim Khan, among others, spoke at the meeting.
Speaking at the meeting as chief guest the finance minister said as the education minister Sadek made it mandatory for opening of bank account by every individual teacher for receiving their salaries because he wanted to stop irregularities in this regard. Describing Sadek as his very close friend, Muhith said Sadek was a sincere personality and he strictly followed all rules and laws.
Mashiur Rahman said Sadek liked to say truth and he firmly expressed his opinion.
