The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT-BD) on Monday sent alleged Razakar from Netrokona Enayet Ullah alias Manju (70) to jail as police produced him before the court.
Manju was arrested last evening from his home in village Kulsree under Atpara Police Station in Netrokona. Manju along with his elder brother Hedayet Ullah alias Anju (80) and Sohrab Fakir alias Sohrab Ali (88) are accused of carrying out crimes against humanity in 1971. “The tribunal has sent him jail and it has earlier set November 28 for submitting formal charge in the case,” said prosecutor Sabina Yesmin Khan. According to the prosecution, all the three accused were involved with the politics of Jamaat when the war broke out in 1971. They later joined peace committee and subsequently notorious Razakar Bahini. Police arrested Sohrab on February 4 in connection with a case filed with Gouripur Police Station in Mymensingh. Acting on a plea filed by the prosecution, the ICT-1 on February 8, showed him arrested under ICT act and issued arrest warrant against the other two.
