Unidentified miscreants shot dead a tribal woman and her daughter in Chandraghona area under Kaptai upazila of Rangamati district early Tuesday.
The deceased were identified as Mru Sang Khoi Marma, 60, and her daughter Mru Sangnu Marma, 29, residents of Gobachara Agapara area, said, Md Sufi Ullah, Additional Superintendent of Police. Unidentified miscreants stormed the house of Mru Sang early in the morning and shot the mother and daughter to death, said the official.
Being informed by local people, army and police teams visited the spot. The reason behind the killings could not be known yet.
According to local sources, both of them were the members of Marma Liberation Party (MLP). They recently joined a local group after quitting MLP that might led the murders.
The bodies have been sent to Rangamati Sadar Hospital morgue.
