Leaders of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) on Friday demanded immediate trial of all the murdered journalists Sagar- Runi, Saiful Alam Mukul, Manik Saha, Shamsur Rahman and Subarna Akhter Nadi.
The journalist leaders raised the demands the biannual meeting of Journalists Union of Jessore held at Jessore Press Club.
Ruhul Amin Gazi, president, Federal Union of Journalists spoke the programme as the chief guest while M Abdullah, secretary general of the organisation as the special guest.
Chaired by Noor Islam, president, JUJ, the programme was attended among others by Nurul Amin Rokon, vice- president, BFUJ, Sadiqul Islam Swapon, executive member, Jahid Hasan Tukun, president, Jessore Press Club, Tauhidur Rahman, general secretary, Ahsan Kabir,M Ayub, Saifur Rahman Saif, Tauhid Zaman and Akramuzzaman.
The speakers, at the programme, said there is no democracy in the country. People have no right of opinion. Such situation cannot be existed.
