Trial to be held in STT: Anis

Law Minister Anisul Huq has said that the trial of of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) student Abrar Fahad murder case will be held in the Speedy Trial Tribunal (STT).
The trial proceedings will begin soon after completing all necessary legal formalities. Will ask the prosecution team to move the Fahad murder case by next Monday.
The minister was talking to the reporters at his Secretariat office on Wednesday after Detective Branch (DB0 of Police submitted the charge sheet in the case against 25 BUET students. He said as per the Speedy Trial Tribunal Act, trial of a case is to be completed in 90 days. If the case cannot be disposed of within the period, the court can take 45 more days.
Abrar Fahad, 21, a second year student of Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), was found dead in the Sher-e-Bangla Hall in the early hours of October 7. The death sparked an outcry to hold trial under Speedy Tribunal Act.
