On the occasion of the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the golden jubilee of independence of Bangladesh, a tree planting program was inaugurated at the initiative of District Ansar and Village Defense Force in Gafargaon, Mymenshing on Tuesday.
Fruit, forest and medicinal plant saplings were being planted on various roads, government offices and educational institutions in 219 villages of Gafargaon upazila by Ansar members
The program was inaugurated at the Gafargaon Upazila Parishad premises by the Ansar and members of the Village Defense Force by picking saplings of various varieties of fruits, forest and medicinal plants.
At the time, among others, were present Upazila Chairman Ashraf Uddin Badal, Upazila Nibarhi Officer Tajul Islam, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Kaberi Roy, Upazila Ansar BDP Officer Md. Abdul Hamid and others.
