The tree plantation campaign-2020 began at Jahangirnagar University (JU) for maintaining ecological balance and enhancing natural beauty of the campus.
JU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Farzana Islam on Thursday inaugurated the campaign by planting a ‘Krishnachura’ plant at Bismile area of the university around 11.00 am.
Addressing the function, JU VC emphasised on planting tree and said that trees need to be planted regularly to build a livable world.
Treasurer of the university Professor Sheikh Md Manzurul Huq, Registrar (acting) Rahima Kaniz and President of Tree Plantation Management Committee Dr. Md. Monwar Hossain spoke at the inaugural session, among others.
