Unauthorised tree felling is going unabated in port city by a group of unscrupulous terrorists gang .
 These century old trees belong to Bangladesh Railway. T
he trees on the both side of road from Tigerpass to Pahartali police camp are being cut by a group of organised gang .
After falling the trees, the road looks like a desert . When asked the railway authority of Chittagong, they said they know nothing about the falling of trees and none was permitted to cut these trees.
 In the name of road expansion, a gang belong to ruling party and the opposition BNP local influential group are cutting these trees, sources said.
The workers involved with the cutting of trees told that AL leader and former councilor of city corporation Md. Hossain Hiron and Jubo Dal leaders Sohel and Arman have engaged them for cutting these trees.
 General Manager of the Railway East Zone, Chittagong Mokbul Ahmed told this correspondent that City Corporation did not take any permission from us for cutting these old trees of Railways and informed the matter to police administration to stop cutting.
 He said Railway authority also opposed the road expansion work of railway owned road in 2012.
Raillway Divisional Manager tried to contact the City Corporation engineers to know the fact of tree cutting but none responded, sources said..
