Transport workers hold human chain in Ctg

The Road Transport Workers Federation has organized a human chain to demand the introduction of public transport in compliance with the health rules. The leaders of the federation made the demand at a human chain organized in front of Chittagong Press Club at 11 am on Thursday. In the human chain, they said, the workers are living a unhumanized life due to the closure of public transport.
Transport workers did not receive any assistance even during the lockdown. In such a situation, it is necessary to introduce limited public transport considering the families of the workers.
Oli Ahmed, general secretary of the regional committee of the Bangladesh Road Transport Workers Federation, said the workers were facing financial crisis due to the closure of public transport in the lockdown.
We demand that public transport be introduced after April 28. We will transport passengers in two seats one by one as before.
President of Bangladesh Road Transport Workers Federation Chittagong and Sylhet Division Mrinal Chowdhury, President of Bangladesh Road Transport Workers Federation Chittagong Region Md. Musha, executive member Rakibul Mawla, Publicity Secretary of truck-covered van union Abdur Sabur and others were present at the human chain.
