Like other parts of the country, Khulna inhabitants are suffering a lot due to transport strike. Transport workers are creating anarchy in the name of strike. Mass transports bearing school college students, private cars are being attacked by the transport workers. Agitated picketers burnt tires and ransacked cars at different areas of Khulna city.
On the spot visit, this correspondent found at Sonadanga Central Bus Terminal that the strike was going on.
Both the days (Sunday and Monday ), transport workers are picketing from early in the morning. Buses, trucks, pick-ups, private cares, three wheelers and microbuses were obstructed during the strike.
On Sunday noon, agitated workers ransacked a private car at Mozid Soroni area under Sonadanga police station while two students who were in that private car were injured for the attack by the transport workers.
All kinds of vehicles including bus, truck, tank-lorry, covered van and three wheeler movement were stopped during the strike. As a result, passengers are being compelled to bear deplorable condition.
