There are many people in the world without basic needs. Since Bangladesh is a developing country, the majority of people are under privileged. I believe that the earth is divided into two strata. The under privileged, and the privileged. I also believe that the privileged people should take action and provide basic needs to the underprivileged. The government of Bangladesh extends some help but not that much. Politics is all over their mind. Some organizations help us too but if we take action and help the country, we will be able to change people’s perspectives regarding Bangladesh. When people think of Bangladesh, they think of it as a sloppy, piece of land with millions of underprivileged people living in it. But if we work hard, take action, build up awareness, we can turn that perception, into a total different and better perspective.
Since Bangladesh is a developing country, a lot of people don’t have access to basic needs, by a lot, I mean 35%! Imagine, people having grand birthdays (like they normally do) and people are working beside the venue that the party is placed in. Imagine their sadness, imagine their feelings right at that very moment! I am so sad for them. Did you know that only 40% of people get basic healthcare? By basic I mean not that good quality of healthcare just getting the minimum medical attention. The percentage of people in Bangladesh under poverty line are 26%. How embarrassing is that to the world? We should really help them.
Some organizations/NGO’s help them too. The organizations are BRAC, WHO, and Red Cross. They help but not much since the other developing countries are going to war, the countries in war are getting more attention and thus help too. It is good for them but not for us.
There are many ways you can take action like conserve water, providing basic needs, build schools and shelter, but there is a saying “Turn your dreams into actions” and I think we should follow that saying to make this world healthier and happier. Hopefully you have a dream that you want to translate into an action by now.

A few days ago, we went to the slums. It was a unique experience but I felt really sad. We interviewed a family and asked them about their life. They were struggling and it was very sad. We also interviewed some children. Fortunately, they went to a school called “Pathshala”. It is a dark room with a tiny bit of light and no ventilation. It had a small chalkboard with books in the corner. The thought engrossed me all the while, why don’t people help them instead of buying designer brands?
