Powerful transformer of electricity has been set up beside the busiest road in front of a Government Primary School in Saidpur of Nilphamari.
It has been set up in front of the Golahat Railway Colony Government Primary School in the Municipal area. As a result, there is a fear of serious accidents at any time.
It is learnt that transformer of 11 thousand volt has been installed on the electric poles which are in front of the front wall of the Railway Colony Government Primary School. A few days ago, due to the sudden burn of the previous transformer, electricity supply in the area was completely closed. In this situation, the sale and distribution department of Saidpur electricity station installed a mobile transformer in the iron cage beside the road to continue the supply of electricity in the area.
According to a source in the Department of Electricity, basically, if there is any defect in the transformer in any area, electricity supply is immediately operated from a mobile transformer. The system is going to run till the re-installation of the burnt transformer. But the mobile transformer arrangement in front of the Golahat Railway Colony Government Primary School has not been removed yet, although 23- 24 days have gone.
It is found on the spot an iron cage with two wheels with a mobile transformer. Basically it looks like a trolley. The ‘danger’ and ‘11,000 thousand volts’ words in the stall plates on the cage are written in English. And people of all ages, including all types of vehicles, are constantly traveling around the transformer on the busy roads.
But the burnt transformer is still there in the electrical pole.
Deputy Assistant Engineer of Saidpur Electricity Sales and Distribution Center Shawkat Ali said, the moment the mobile transformer was installed, I was on vacation. He said that as soon as the transformer will come from Bogra the mobile transformer will be removed.
