Chittagong district has suffered a sudden one-hour-long power outage as supply in the National Grip was cut off when a transformer at a sub-station caught fire at Hathazari. Officials at the Hathazari 132 kV Grid Sub-Station said the fire started around 8pm on Monday.
Chief Engineer of Power Development Board Nazrul Islam could only confirm that the power supply to the grid was cut around 8:20pm leading to blackout across the whole district.
