A four- day long training workshop on “religious tolerance issue” for journalists began at the Conference Room of Sabalambi Unnayan Samity at Malni area here yesterday.
News Network with the support of High Commission of Canada, Bangladesh organised the workshop aiming at improving professional ability of journalists to report on religious issue with respects to human rights, the organizers said.
DC Netrakona Main-UL-Islam formally inaugurated the workshop. In his inaugural speech, the DC said, the journalists can play an important role to keep the people free from all sorts of confusion, propaganda and superstition through upholding the truth and creating mass awareness.
A total of 25 local journalists of different national dailies, news agencies and electronic media participated in the workshop.
