Train the Trainer (TOT) programme on Fish and Fishery Product Official Control Protocol jointly organised by Better Work & Standards (BEST) Programme UNIDO and Strengthening of Fishery and Aquaculture Food Safety and Quality Management System in Bangladesh, Department of Fisheries was held at FIQC conference room, Chittagong, with the participation of Govt.
Fish Inspection and Quality Control and fish processing industry personnel of Chittagong region from 20 to 23 April last..
This official control protocol will function as compulsory guidance for Competent Authority Staff and as potential informative guidance of the fish processing industry on how food safety controls will be established and implemented to achieve the equivalence towards the EU food safety requirements to export fish and fishery products from Bangladesh.
After approval of this official control protocol by Department of Fishery, it will become the documentary basis of the Fish Inspection Service, referring to the main aspects using a systematic and organized format, to ensure full compliance with the Fish Inspection Service with the aim of continuous improvement of official controls for the production and export of Fish and Fishery Products, in particular to the European Union.
This document becomes the compulsory manual to regulate the services and procedures of FIQC Official Controls in respect to the certification, approval, licensing, inspection, audit and monitoring to the production and exports of fish and fishery products operators
Dr. Helder Silva, a UNIDO international expert, was the lead trainer of the program, DOF Chitttagong sources said.
