Designed to increase the efficiency and skills of the journalists of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU), a six-day “Training on Development Journalism” began on the campus on Tuesday.
BAU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Md Rafiqul Hoque inaugurated the programme as the chief guest while Shykh Siraj, eminent agricultural media activist and Director and head of news of Channel I and Kazi Akhtar Uddin Ahmed, director general of Bangladesh Betar addressed the function as the special guests with Graduate Training Institute (GTI) Director Prof Dr Masuma Habib in the chair.
In the opening ceremony of the training programme, speakers said, agriculture sector of our country is facing many challenges including global warming at present.
Agricultural journalist should play important role to meet the challenges through disseminating the information on new technology release and successful stories of agriculture among the people.
Funded by BAU administration, Graduate Training Institute (GTI) of BAU is organizing the programme that will continue till October 26.
