Training can further boost employment on freelancing

Employment on freelancing through internet has been increasing in Bangladesh, but lack of sufficient training facilities are hindering further achievements in the field, said stakeholders.
They said the government had started a project titled “Learning and Earning” in 2014 aiming to increase employment facilities for the unemployment educated youths and earn more foreign currency.
After the start of the project, a good number of educated youths took training and they are now earning foreign currency involving freelancing at homes.
Besides, many private institutes were also involved in giving training to the educated youths in this regard.
Though our youths are achieving success breaking all of the barriers in taking opportunity of global outsourcing market, they are now confined in mainly doing data entry.
The subjects of the outsourcing limitless internet global market include data entry, graphics designing, article writing and many other  
types of job. The interested people need a computer or laptop with internet connection to connect the dreamy world.
If a large number of them could achieve capability of becoming software programmer, animation maker, web designer and such other work, the amount of income would be Skyscraper, insiders optimised.
Website design, Website Development, Software Development, App Development, Animation, Digital Marketing, Affiliate Marketing, Counseling, Teaching and Treatment are the most demanded outsourcing topics, they added.
“Youths are changing their fate by earning lots of foreign currency from the world internet market through outsourcing. Government is giving support in this regard,”
said Zunaid Ahmed Palak, State Minister for ICT.
He added Bangladesh is advancing rapidly with the Information and Communication Technology through these educated youths.
“There are unlimited opportunities of earning foreign currency through freelancing. There are trillion dollars market. But insufficient training facilities keep us beyond from taking the potentiality,” said M A Muhith Rana, Chairman of Center for Effective Education and Development (CEED).
He said, “Our country has a huge burden of unemployment. Every year the rate of educated unemployed is increasing. It created wide range of bad impact on our society. Only sufficient training facilities could create an employment for the unemployed educated workforce.”
He said many foreign enterprises and people are waiting with huge job opportunities in outsourcing market. But our freelancers are now to availing the opportunity partially.
Youths who have capability to use internet can earn a handful amount of money through freelancing without involving any permanent job, insiders said.
“I am working in a company at Motijheel with a small wage. It is not sufficient for me as I need more money to provide my family. Then I started freelancing using internet with my laptop. Now I earn nearly Tk 25,000 from freelancing monthly using very little time every daily,” said Ruhul Amin, 30.
Other freelancers said there are huge opportunity in the market of outsourcing as many companies in the world are ready to give work through internet to those who have capability.
According to ICT Department, 1,560 people have so far taken training from the government project in Dhaka Division. And 485 of them have successfully involved in freelancing. .
“The government has taken a target to earn US$ 5 crore through internet-based outsourcing market by freelancers annually,” Ashraf Ali, the Project Director of ‘Learning and Earning’ said.
He said, the project now imparting training to 13,000 persons in 650 batches in 64 districts since 2014.
