Training camp for fresh surfers begins in Cox’s Bazar

The training camp for the fresh surfers of the country began on Tuesday in the tourist town of Cox’s Bazar ahead of the Brac Chicken 2nd National Surfing Championship beginning on April 21 at Laboni Point of Cox’s Bazar sea beach.
Vice-president of Bangladesh Surfing Association (BSA) Jamal Rana inaugurated the eight-day training in the morning.
A total of 50 fresh surfers from all over the country are taking part in the training camp, in a shark -and stone -free beach, a perfect place for surfing.
A group of male and female delegations of Surfing the Nations (STN) came from USA to conduct the fresher training camp organised by Bangladesh Surfing Association.
A record number of 150 surfers from all over Bangladesh are expected to compete in the 2nd version of the National Surfing Championship to be held in three categories-beginners, seniors and women’s.
Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu will inaugurate the three-day competition on April 21. Director of the meet’s sponsor Brac Chicken Towfique Ahmed, Deputy Commissioner of Cox’s Bazar Ali Hossian are also expected to be present at the inaugural function to be chaired by BSA President Kazi Firoz Rashid, MP.
Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon is expected to present at the closing ceremony of the national championship on April 23 in the afternoon.
