The train communication between Dhaka and North Bengal resumed after eight hours of derailment of a passenger train, railway sources said. The train communication was snapped after the Dhaka-bound Rajshahi Express from Rajshahi derailed on the west side of the Bangabandhu Jamuna Multipurpose Bridge near Sirajganj at about 8.15 a.m on Sunday.
Railway sources said that four bogies and the engine derailed all on a sudden, but there was no report of casualties. A relief train from Paksey rushed the spot and rescued the derailed compartments and
the engine at about 4 p.m.
The train communication between capital city Dhaka and North-South Region was restored. A four-member enquiry committee has been formed with instruction to submit report within three days.
