A schoolboy was killed after being hit by a speedy train at Aulia in Sitakunda upazila on Tuesday morning.
The deceased was identified as Md Saiful Islam, 13, son of jute mill worker Joynal Abedin of Fazilpur in Feni district. He was a sixth grader at Sabuj Shikkhayatan High School in the upazila.
Saiful was trying to cross the trail tracks when the train hit him around 10 am, leaving his dead on the spot, said Mustafiz Bhuiyan, officer-in-charge of Government Railway Police (GRP) in Chattogram.
On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Chittagong Medical College Hospital for autopsy, the OC added.
