At least one person died and four others injured when a bus hi by a train in Chittagong yesterday.
The collision happened around 11:15am on the Ispahani level-crossing at the port city’s Paharhtali area, said Chittagong Metropolitan Police’s Deputy Commissioner SM Tanvir Arafat.
“Chittagong bound Meghna Express, which was coming from Chandpur rammed into the bus while it was on the level crossing,” he said.One killed on the spot. The identity of the victim yet to be known immediately, sources said.
The injured have been taken to the Chittagong Medical College and Hospitals . At least two of them were in critical conditions, added the police official. The injured are Hashem, Mahbu, Subash and Samim. In connection, a 3-member probe committee has been formed headed by the Divisional Traffic Manager Firoj Iftikar, sources said.
