A family of three was found dead in a flat in city’s Kafrul area under Mirpur- 13 Section on Thursday.
On receiving information, Kafrul police rushed to the spot and recovered the three bodies.
The victims were identified as Bayazid, 45, his wife Khohinur Begum, 41, and his only son SM Farhan, who was the student of Dhaka Commerce College.
Local sources said, Bayazid, locally known as RMG businessman, took a huge amount of loan from different banks. Recently, one of the banks filed a case against Bayazid with Kafrul Police Station for non-payment of the loan.. As a result, he was mentally frustrating. Out of frustration, Bayazid mixed poision with birayani and served it to his son and wife. After their death, he hanged himself. Before death Bayazid also wrote a note ‘no one is responsible for their death,’ Selimuzzaman, Officer-in-Charge of Kafrul Police Station said.
“We immediately reached the spot after knowing the incident. Post-mortem report is underway. Bodies have been sent to the hospital morgue for autopsy,” said the police official.
