Staff Reporter :
A human trafficking gang has been provided fake visas to send to England-Ireland. And in order to verify those visas, they used to create fake websites in the name of fake companies.
Such kind of strategy, this gang looted lots of money from the people, said Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Banaj Kumar Majumder.
PBI arrested three gang members from Dhaka’s Motijheel and Gulshan area on Wednesday. The arrestees are-Shaheen Hasan, 49, Tarek Mahmud Ghalib, 28, and Bakul Hossain alias Ratan Hawlader, 48. However, another fugitive human trafficker Mizan alias Shahed Siddiqui escaped in the incident, he said in a press briefing on Thursday.
The PBI chief also said that this gang collected the passport with cheating and assured them to send England-Ireland with job. Later, they made a website in the name of fake company and impute the passport number there and told the victims that verify the job latter to gain trust from them.
When the client verified it and saw their passport number they give money. Later, this gang also made fake visa sticker and attach it in passport and send the picture through WhatsApp and also demand the rest of money, Banaj added.
But this time one of the victims suspected that it may be fake. So he mails to the Irish embassy in India for verifying the matter, and he was replied that it is fake, he added.
The matter was caught due to immediate verification. If it took one or two days more time to verify, the cycle would have copied that same website in the meantime. They had such a plan, this official also added.
The PBI Chief said we see that those who are being deceived are not taking the help of the police. Because they think they can’t go to London if they go to the police. They don’t come to the police until they lost everything’s.
So, he urged when anybody want such thing please verified carefully.
