Police will take stern action against businessmen if they find anyone cheating consumers during the holy month of Ramzan.
Sylhet Metropoliton Police Commissioner Mizanur Rahman said this at a views exchange meeting with businessmen at the conference hall of Sylhet Police Commissioner on Sunday.
He warned the businessmen of dire consequences if they raise prices illogically, cheat people in weight and sell sub-standard food items and chemically treated Iftar.Legal action will be taken even against police officials if anyone found involved in illegal activities, he cautioned the police.
He sought cooperation from everybody to maintain law and order during Ramzan. Aditional Police Commissiner S.M Rukon Uddin, Sylhet Press Club President Iqbal Siddiki, Secretary Md. Sirazul Islam, Ekramul Kobir Eku, Al Azad, Foysol Ahmed Bablu, Md. Turon Miah, Abdul Hannan spoke, among others.
