Extortionists stabbed a trader in Narsingdi district town on Thursday evening for not paying extortion money as demanded by them to celebrate 31st night.
Injured trader Sajib Miah is now receiving treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Relatives of the trader said a group of extortionists led by Sakib, Salman demanded Tk 50,000 extortion from Sajib at Stadium area to celebrate 31st night. They threatened the trader when he refused to give them the extortion money.
Later, the extortionists attacked Sajib with lethal weapons and stabbed him mercilessly, leaving him critically injured.
