Trader shot by hijacker dies at DMCH

A plastic trader, who suffered bullet injuries at that time of snatching away Tk 50,000 from him in the city’s Kamalapur Railway Station area on July 20, died at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) early Tuesday.
The deceased has been identified as Mostafa Kamal, 55, a resident of Nandakumar Datta Lane in the city’s Lalbagh area, police said.
Quoting the relatives of the victim, the DMCH’s Police Outpost In-Charge Mozammel Haq confirmed the matter and said that Mostafa, who was undergoing treatment in the hospital, succumbed to his injuries.
 The police official said that Mostafa came under attack of a gang of miscreants near the Kamlapur Railway Station around 2.00pm when he was going to his residence at Lalbagh. He went to Chittagong for a piece of business.
He added that Mostafa was admitted to DMCH with bullet injuries in a critical condition on Sunday.
