Staff Reporter :Police in a drive arrested at least two persons from a house of Fatullah in Naraynganj district on Tuesday afternoon in connection with the murder of businessman Nurul Islam.The arrested persons were identified as Seyed Uddin, 50, and Aftab Ahmed, 42, inhabitant of the Fatullah, said Mohammad Mohiuddin Khandaker, Superintendent of Police (SP). The SP said, “We have got some vital information about the murder.”Police are investigation the matter to trace motive and other the criminals, he said.  Businessman Nurul Islam, 42 was shot dead by unidentified assailants on the Dhaka-Narayanganj link road under Fatullah Police Station on Monday night. His attackers hurled explosive bombs at the bus he was riding and then shot him dead. Nurul lived at a rented house near the Fatullah’s Railway Station. He ran a mobile phone shop, Popular Electronics, at Motalib Plaza in Dhaka’s Hatirpool.The police are certain that Nurul was the target of the attack, since none of the other passengers of the bus has been harmed. However, the law enforcers are yet to find a motive behind the murder.Naraynganj ASP Mohammad Sharfuddin said he was returning to Naraynganj from Dhaka by a bus at night.The miscreants blasted bombs to stop the bus in front of Samad Banu CNG Filling Station at Mahmudpur. The windshield of the bus was broken by the impact of the explosion, the ASP said. “They got into the bus when it stopped and fled with a bag from Nurul after shooting him in the chest,” ASP Sharfuddin said.The driver took the victim in a hospital at Thanpur where doctors declared him dead. The hospital’s emergency ward physician Sohel Rana said that Nurul died on the spot. According to a passenger of the bus, it was a gang of four to five assailants. They came in two motorcycles and shot Islam with a pistol.
