A construction material supplier was hacked to death at Chandoni village under Naria Upazial of Shariatpur district on Monday morning.
The deceased was identified as Yakub Ali Sayal, 50, son of Arshed Ali Sayal of Chandoni village.
Nurul Haque Bepari, Chairman of Vojessor Union told the media that victim Yakub was going to Kolabagan area with his bike around 9:00am. Suddenly, his rival group attacked him in front of one Abu Siddique Dhali.

“Yakub was severely stabbed by the supporters
of a former chairman of the union named Ali Ahamed Sikder. The victim was rushed to Shariatpur Sadar Hospital but the duty doctor referred him to DMCH. Around 12 noon, he died on the way to Dhaka, added Nurul Haque.
AKM Monzurul Haque, Officer in-Charge of Naria Police Station confirmed the news to media that we have already got some names who are involved with this murder but we cannot disclose this for the betterment of inquiry.
Legal steps will be taken against the attackers, the OC added.
