Trade Assoc withdraws indefinite strike at CU

The Trade Association of Chittagong University yesterday has withdrawn its indefinite strike called demanding punishment of people who beaten up a employee at CU.
Confirming the withdrawal of indefinite strike the Trade Association’s general secretary Akter Hossain said that we put a memorandum to CU proctor getting justice. Reassuring us he said that he will take proper action after investigation. , considering the sufferings of the students, we opened the shops with the assurance of speaking to the proctor Sir.
According to sources, Sirajul Islam , a businessman of CU ,was beaten up by a group of CU BCL activists. Later, the injured Siraj was rescued and taken to the university’s medical center. After the initial treatment there, he was sent to Chittagong Medical College (CMCH) hospital for better treatment.
The BCL activists were known as activist of a group named “CFC” and follower of Rezaul Haque Rubel, former vice president of CU BCL.
 Meanwhile, demanding the punishment of those activists involved in the incident, The Trade Association`s leaders wanted to hold a human chain and it was obstructed by police at around 10:30 am on Thursday at the university’s Bangabandhu Chattar.
Later, business leaders gave a memorandum to the proctor office demanding their demands and the punishment of the involved people.
University Business Owners Association General Secretary Akhter Homen said on the change, considering the sufferings of the students, we opened the shops with the assurance of speaking to the proctor Sir.
University proctor Mohammad Ali Ajgar Chowdhury said considering the sufferings of students, we talked to them (business association). The traders told us to open the shop.
