Thousands of tourists were gathered at Cox’s Bazar sea beach, the longest sea beach of the world to celebrate New Year and holidays.
Although the district administration did not allow any open air programs for security concern, the tourists from all over the country gathered at the longest Sea beach to celebrate New Year.
At least 3lakh tourists gathered at different tourist spots of the district including Inani, Saint Martin, Himchhari, Sonadia, Moheshkhali, Adinath Temple, Banglabandhu Safari park, Dulahazra, Gudhum Guha, and Ramu Ramkot.
Hotels, Motels, resorts and guest houses of the district have been packed with tourists in advance.
Deputy Commissioner of Cox’s Bazar district Mohammad Ali Hossain said they directed the authorities to not allow the open air programs.
Md Rayhan Kazemi, Senior Assistant Superintendent of Cox’s Bazar tourist police, said they took various steps to ensure securities for the tourist. Several teams of tourist police were in-duty for ensuring security.
