A tourist was drowned at Nikli haor upazila of Kishoreganj on Friday morning.
The victim was identified as Akash (24) son of Rezaul Karim, a resident of Dkshin Rajdi village under Kalkini upazila of Madaripur district.
Locals informed that Akash was drowned in Nikli Haor at Kursha area while taking bath with friends Tuhin (25) and Habib (24) also drowned in the water.
Locals rescued him and took to Nikli Upazila Health Centre where the on-duty doctors declared him dead.
The injured tourists were admitted to Zahurul Islam Medical College and Hospital in Bajitpur.
Fire Service Station Officer (SO) Md.Abu Zafar confirmed the truth of the incident.
Several tourists lost their lives while visiting Nikki Haor’s this monsoon.
When contact to Deputy Commissioner (DC) in Kishoreganj Mohammad Shamim Alam told The New Nation that, the repeated unwanted incidents in Haor areas are very sad.
They are also worried about this for a few days. Tourists are given various warring message but they are endangering their lives due to their own ignorance., DC added.
