Sylhet Correspondent :
Tourist locations in Sylhet region witnessed a good turnout of visitors, mostly young from the region as well as from all over the country during the Eid vacations. Yet there has been rush on all the spots in Sylhet, Moulvibazar and Habiganj.
However, people suffered much as almost all the internal roads linking the spots are in very bad condition and went worst during the recent days due to excessive rains as there had been no major repair or reconstruction works.
Alongside the huge greenery of tea gardens on the small hills, the shrines of Hajrat Shahjalal (RA) and Hajrat Shahporan (RA) also got visitors from all over the country amid a mixed weather with light rains and heating sun.
Alongside the tea gardens, spots like, Jafflong, Sylhet Eco Park, Khadim national forest, Lalakhal, Pantumai, Bisnakandi in Sylhet etc have drawn huge crowds every day while amusement spots, like Adventure World, Dreamland Park, Sylhet Shishu Park, Osmani Shishu Park, etc also had a good number of visitors since the Eid day. Lawachhara forest, Madhabpur Lake and Hakaluki haor of Moulvibazar and tea gardens in Habiganj in addition to the Rema-Kalenga forests also attracted much of the visitors.
Through a nice weather with scattered rains on Monday and Tuesday, all these spots drew the huge number of visitors of all ages.
Seeing Jafflong and other sites of Sylhet is enjoyable always, said a number of visitors.
The rush may continue for two days more, said some staff at the Adventure World in and Osmani Shishu Park of Sylhet on Tuesday. However, normal temperature amid light rains for the last few days after days of scorching heat and excess rains was bearable to all.
Meanwhile, the hotel and rest houses are doing good business as visitors from other districts are there. Most of them reached Sylhet as well as other spots in Moulvibazar on the Eid day.
Many people would enjoy holiday till Saturday while almost all the hotels are booked, said a number of staff.
On the other hand, local traders as well many visitors were disheartened as the authority had barred visiting Madhabkunda falls due to risk of hillslide. Many others had to come back from the Madhabkunda Park’s shut gate.
Meanwhile, the security arrangement was good with deployment of additional forces in addition to tourist police teams on the places.
