Leaders of various NGOs and women’s organisations organised a human chain at Moshat Village protesting the harassment of a housewife at Bhangura Upazila in Pabna district on Saturday.
Sarkar Mohammad Ali Bablu, Executive Director of the non-governmental organisation TSP, Maya Das, Executive Director of CCDB and Abu Said, Branch Manager of Unanon, said Thatkhadija Khatun was brutally tortured and her hairs of head were cut off.
Housewife Khadija Khatun is an habitant of Sultanpur village and she has been severely tortured . They demanded exemplary punishment of khadijas husband Shahed Fakir who committed the atrocities.
Women’s leader Asma Khatun said the women was severally humiliated by cutting her hair. NGO representatives later went to see Khadija, who was under treatment at the Upazila Health Complex. At this time she burst into tears. They went to the police station and inquired about the case filed with the police, they told the Nation.
Nazmul Haque ,Officer-In-Charge (Investigation) of Bhangura Police Station said a case has been registered in this regard.
Khadija’s husband Shahed Fakir was arrested and sent to the District Jail on Saturday.
