Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) arrested Nur-e-Alam alias Nuru,40, a CMP-listed top terrorist from city’s Pahartali area early Sunday.
On his confession police recovered a Light Gun and cartridges from Ispahani rail gate area under Akber Shah thana in the city, CMP officials said.
Police said Nuru is a notorious gangster of city’s crime world and made hostage the people in Lalkhanbazar, Debarpar and South Khulshi area for a long time.
At least 17 criminal cases including extortion, abduction have been pending against him with Khulshi and Doublemooring police against him, sources said.
