A suspected top terrorist was killed in a reported gunfight between two groups of ‘criminals’ in Colony area of the district town early Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Kabir Hossain alias Minko 40, son of Md Azizul Haque, an accused in 15 cases, including that of double murder, extortion and arms
Sonatan Chakraborty, additional superintendent of Bogura circle police, said a team of police went to Bhatkandi bridge area hearing gunshots around 1:30am.
They found Minko critically injured with bullet and took him to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital where police declared him dead.
He was arrested in January, 2019 in an arms case and walked out of jail on bail four months ago, said the police official.
Police recovered a foreign revolver, 8 round bullets, a one shooter gun, a machete and a knife from the spot. Hearing the death news of the terrorist, locals distributed sweets and brought out a joy procession.
