Tomalika coming with solo stage performance

Popular actress of small screen and theatre Tamalika Karmaker has acted in a TV play after six months break. She worked under own elder sister Chayanika Chowdhury’s direction in a play titled Golpota Hoyto Onekeri. She played in role of Orpa in the play. Scripted by Faria Hossain shooting of the play was done yesterday.
While talking about her present activities Tamalika told this correspondent that for the first time she is going to perform solo on a stage performance on February 10 at Studio Theatre of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy. Tamalika will act in solo play titled Putultakey Dekhey Rekho, scripted by Sweden expatriate Anisur Rahman, under the direction of Irin Parvin Lopa.
While talking about the play its director Lopa said, “Now we specially females and children are mostly affected due to human rights violation. We have to survive our next generation. This play will give a message in this regard.”
Tamalika shared her feelings by this way, “For the first time, I am going to perform in a solo play. So, I am feeling slightly nervous. But I am taking mentally preparation in this regard. Basically I am an actress of theatre. I always prefer to work on stage where I can invent myself often.”
While talking about to work in TV plays Tamalika said, “Sometimes I think it is not right place for me to work in TV plays because I cannot get favourable script and role. As an actress, it is my desire to work in good script and role based play.” Meanwhile, after a break of 30 years, Tamalika has acted in a serial in Bangladesh Betar. Tamalika acted first movie was Sheikh Niamat Ali’s Annyo Jibon. She got the National Film Award for acting in Abu Sayeed’s Kittonkhola. Her acted viewers’ choice movie was Malek Afsari’s Ei Ghor Ei Sangsar.
