The officers and employees of Bangladesh Bank, Chittagong observed one hour’s strike on Sunday protesting the undermining their status in the recently published 8sth National Pay scale by the govt.
The officials took positions in front of Bank main gate adjacent to Kotwali Crossing in the morning. The strike was obsvered as a part of their central decisions of the Bangladesh Bank Officers Welfare Council .
The officials launched this action programs over the 3 point demands. These demands are – upgradation of Executive Director in Grade-5, probationery Assistant Director in 8th grade instead of 9th grade and separate pay scale for the central bank employees.
Sources said the BB officials will observed token strike for one and half hours on January 11&12 and two hours on Jan 13 &14 as per central decisions of the welfare council.
