Tofail seeks investments from Australia

Australia can import readymade garments, ceramics, medicines and leather products from Bangladesh as there is huge demand of these products in Australian market, said commerce minister Tofail Ahmed.
Bangladesh is now an attractive place for investments and Australian entrepreneurs can invest in Bangladesh for mutual benefits of the two countries, said Tofail during a meeting with Australian finance minister senator Mathias Cormann, said a media release on Saturday.
The commerce minister is now in Perth, Australia to attend the Asia-Pacific Regional Conference.
Tofail said Bangladesh is thankful to Australia for giving Bangladesh duty and quota free market access.
He said Australian investors can invest in any of the 100 special economic zones Bangladesh is now developing for attracting foreign investment. The government will ensure all facilities for the Australian investors to secure their investments, he added.
During the meeting the commerce minister laid emphasis on introducing cargo air service between the two countries.
