Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed on Wednesday invited Canadian entrepreneurs to invest in Bangladesh’s special economic zones (SEZs).
“Canadian investors would benefit making investment in the SEZ,” he told Canadian High Commissioner in Dhaka Benoit Prefontaine during a view exchange meeting at his ministry office.
Mentioning that Bangladesh is developing 100 SEZs at the initiative of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Tofail said Bangladesh’s investment policy is fully business friendly. “Anyone could make investment here and take back the investment with profit any time,” he said, adding, “Bangladesh protects the interest of investor by the law.”
Terming Canada as a big market and business partner of Bangladesh, the minister laid emphasis on expanding the market for Bangladeshi products.
In last fiscal, Bangladesh exported products of $ 1079.18 million against the import of $ 598.50 million.
