bdnews24.com :Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations scheduled for May 22 across the country have been deferred to May 27 after cyclonic storm Roanu struck Bangladesh’s coastal areas. The Inter-board Coordination Subcommittee made the deferment decision on Saturday. As per the decision, tests on Economic and Commercial Geography 2nd paper, Music 2nd paper (theoretical), Drama 2nd paper (theoretical) and Economicand Commercial Geography 2nd paper (DIBS) will be held from 9 am-12 noon on May 22. Exams on Chemistry 2nd paper (theoretical), Islamic History and Culture 2nd paper (humanities section), Islamic History 2nd paper (optional-1 and 2), History 2nd paper, History 2nd paper (optional 1 and 2), Home Management, Childcare and Family Relation 2nd paper (theoretical) will begin on 2:30pm and end at 5:30pm. Dhaka board Controller of Examinations Srikanta Kumar Chanda told bdnews24.com, “We came to know that many educational institutions and exam centres in different coastal districts under Chittagong and Barisal divisions have been affected by the cyclone. “That’s why the exams have been deferred.”Roanu struck the Bangladesh coast on Saturday. Loss of lives and properties has been reported from Chittagong, Bhola, Patuakhali, Lakshmipur, Cox’s Bazar, Chandpur, Jhalokati.
