Institute of Chartered Secretaries of Bangladesh (ICSB) celebrated 6th anniversary of the enactment of Chartered Secretaries Act 2010 in a grand manner, in its own premises at Padma Life Tower (7th Floor), 115, Kazi Nazrul Islam Avenue, Bangla Motor, Dhaka on Saturday. Md. Monirul Alam FCS, Vice President & Chairman of the Members’ Welfare & Recreation Sub Committee of the Institute formally inaugurated the programme and welcomed the members and guests. President Mohammad Asad Ullah FCS; Senior Vice President M. Naseemul Hye FCS; Treasurer Mohammad Bul Hassan FCS; Immediate Past President Mohmmad Sanaullah FCS; Addl. Secretary of Ministry of Law Nasreen Begum and other council members were present in the programme. The programmes include speech by the president, and reminiscence from the members, Doa Mahfil, anniversary cake cutting and concluded with Iftar followed by dinner.
Green University of Bangladesh
The 3rd Nihongo Aptitude Test (NAT) in 2016 on Japanese Language proficiency was held on Sunday on Green University of Bangladesh (GUB) campus. A total 363 students participated in this internationally recognized test. Among those, 352 participants appeared in N5, 13 participants appeared in N4 and 01 participant appeared in N3 examination. The Japanese Language NAT-TEST is an examination that measures the Japanese language ability of students who are not native Japanese speakers. The tests are separated by difficulty and general ability is measured in three categories: Grammar/Vocabulary, Listening and Reading Comprehension. The format of the examination and the types of questions are equivalent to those that appear on the Japanese Language Ability Test (JLPT). It is noted that GUB is the only authorized Center in Bangladesh where NAT-TEST is regularly held every two months. Being the Test Centre, GUB also becomes a Japanese Language Centre going to offer Japanese language courses to respective group of people who like to visit Japan for various purposes, including study and work.
University Grants Commission
A-18 member high powered delegation from education ministry led by UGC Chairman Professor Abdul Mannan left Dhaka for Japan on Sunday to visit universities and research institutes for development of infrastructure and laboratory facilities of newly established departments in Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology, Khulna University of Engineering and Technology, Dhaka University of Engineering and Technology and Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology under a project named “Creation of Infrastructure and Laboratory Facilities for Introducing New Department in Five Public University”.
Professor Dr. M. Shah Nowaz Ali, Member, UGC, A S Mahmud, Additional Secretary, Education Ministry and S.M Ehsan Kabir, Additional Secretary, Education Ministry were included in the delegation, among others. The delegation will visit Japan Fine Ceramic Centre (JFCC), Nagoya, Nagoya Institute of Technology (NITech), Toyohashi University of Technology, Mikawa Textile Research Centre, Japan Seiki Glass Co. Ltd. and University of Tokyo. The delegation is expected to return the country on 27 June 2016.
