A gang of unidentified muggers snatched Tk one lakh from a Jhut (garment scraps) trader in the city’s Rampura area on Saturday afternoon. The victim has been identified as Sagor Hossain, 35, son of Oli Ahmed, resident of Rampura’s Agnishikha Goli, police said. Quoting the witnesses, Rampura Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mahbubur Rahman said that a junior gang of local miscreants snatched themoney by shooting at him around 4:00pm and Sagor received two bullets in his legs and stomach. He said that the miscreants demanded Tk five lakh from him as toll money some days ago. The local people recovered him from the spot and rushed to the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH), the police official said.
