Chandpur Pourashva announced its budget amounting to Tk 91.64 crores for 2019-2010 fiscal year.
Municipal Mayor Nasiruddin Ahmed announced this budget at a function held at Chandpur Press Club auditorium with Municipal Secretary Abul Kalam Bhuiyan in the chair. This was the 14th Budget presented by him recently .
The major plans of the budget are development and repairs of roads, culverts, bridges, Chandpur Bus Terminal , Sanitation, Water line repair and extension and repairs in Municipal areas costing Tk 4.22 crores, Beautifying Chandpur town will be done at a cost of Tk 20 lakhs, Shishu Park to be built at a cost of Tk five crores as pledged by the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on 25 acres of land near Chandkhar Dokan-an outskirt of Chandpur town, Market Building and repairs to be done at a cost of Tk one crore, Climate Change fund involving Tk 7.50 crores will be spent in the Government specified projects, Municipal Khals’ repairs works and land acquisition will be done at a cost of Tk two crores, the remaining works of Chandpur Auditorium will be build/completed at a cost of Tk 10 crores etc.
The Mayor emphatically said, Chandpur Paurasava is an institution, run by the financial assistances that come from its citizens. It is a corruption- and- harassment- free Paurasava. He pledged, ‘Within next two years,, there will be no kutcha roads in 22 square kilometres in this Paurasava’ adding that insha Allah 80 to 90 percent works of the proposed budget would be completed properly in the next fiscal’ and Chandpur town will be looking more beautiful’…
