Tk 7.83 cr allocated for repairing religious establishments, JS told

The government has allocated Taka 7, 83, 68,000 for repairing mosques and temples in the fiscal year 2014-2015. “Every parliament member would get Taka 2.0 lakh for renovation/repairing of mosques in their respective constituencies during the current fiscal year,” Religious Affairs Minister Principal Matiur Rahman told this in the House on Monday. Replying to a question from treasury bench member Begum Pinu Khan, he said the government has also allocated Taka 1.0 lakh for each reserved seat of the Jatiya Sangsad to renovate/repair mosques at their respective electoral constituencies in 2014-2015 Fiscal Year (FY).
Each directly elected lawmaker will also get Taka 40,000 for temple renovation/repairing works and Taka 20,000 allocated for reserved seat lawmaker in the current FY, the minister said.
Besides, the government has also allocated Taka 3.68 lakh from Hindu Religious Welfare Trust for repairing/renovation works of temples in Dhaka district in 2014-2015 financial year, Matiur Rahman informed the House.
