The National Board of Revenue (NRB) has collected Tk 7.74 billion in the first three days of the income tax fair that began on Tuesday.
According to a media statement issued by the revenue authorities, 45,358 taxpayers submitted returns until Thursday.
A large number of taxpayers turned up at the fair being held at the Officers’ Club in Dhaka on Thursday, the third day of the seven-day event, despite shutdown called by the Jamaat-e-Islami.
The NBR said the fair in other parts of the country also saw a huge turnout of taxpayers.
The statement said the board served 98,630 taxpayers on the third day of the fair.
