A gang of unidentified muggers, who introduced themselves as the members of Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), snatched Tk 7.55 lakh from a businessman in the city’s Gulshan-2 area on Wednesday afternoon. The victim has been identified as Mamun Mollah, a scrap trader, hailing from Gazipur, police said.Quoting the victim, Gulshan Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge (OC) Rafiqul Islam confirmed the matter and said that the miscreants numbering 10 blocked the way of Mamun Mollah’s rickshaw when he was going to Gulshan from Banani around 2:35 pm. The muggers snatched Tk seven lakh and fifty five thousands from his possession. The snatchers used a microbus fled by the car. The police official said that Mamun withdraw the money from Dutch Bangla Bank, Banani Branch on the day. He further said that police were looking into the incident.
