Secretary of the Health and Family Welfare Ministry Md.Abdul Mannan said work worth Tk 54,000 crore was being done in the health sector. Hopefully the health sector will go a long way. Bangladesh will get three crore corona vaccine. Nearly 87 thousand doctors are working all over the country.
Health Secretary also remarked that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was constantly working to ensure health care for mothers and children.
He was addressing an exchange views meeting with Doctors, Government officials and people’s representatives of Kishoreganj district and Sadar upazila at the conference room of Sadar upazila complex on Saturday noon. Abdul Mannan said, “What may be more unfortunate than it if a driver can have 23 flats. They are more terrible than Corona. I love my country as like myself. The government is working to get rid of the health sector of irregularities and corruption in this country.”
The health secretary further said that the health care recipients want services. There will be no compromise. We do not lack medical equipment but there is a shortage of technicians to operate the equipment. Measures will be taken soon to alleviate the crisis so that no patient is deprived of services.
Civil Surgeon Dr. Md. Mujibur Rahman presided over.It was addressed among others by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sarowar Morshed Chowdhury as special guest, Additional SP Mizanur Rahman, Deputy Director of Syed Nazrul Islam Medical College Hospital Dr.Helaluddin, Municipality Mayor Parvez Mahamud Sadar Upazila Chairman Mamum Abdullah -ai–Mamun,Sadar UNO Abdul Kadir, ,Deputy Civil Surgeon Dr. Md. Mustafizur Rahman, Sadar Upazila Health & Family Planning Officer Dr. Tajrina Tayba, and Sadar Upazila Family Planning Officer Mizanur Rahman.
Earlier, Health Secretary Abdul Mannan underwent treatment at Burungarchar Community Clinic under Sadar Upazila. Then he launched the Vitamin A + campaign.
