Gowainghat Upazila Nirbahi Officer Tahmilur Rahman said, Ongoing lockdown due to global corona situation, flood situation in Goainghat under Sylhet district and on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief has allocated Tk 36 lakh for the extremely poor and helpless people of Goainghat.
In the meantime, the GR cash allocated by the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief has been allocated at the rate of Tk 36 lakh in 10 unions of the upazila at the rate of Tk 3.5 lakh. The money allotted to the Union Parishads will be distributed very soon according to the list sent by the 9 chairmen of the upazila and the administrator of 1 union.
Besides, Gowainghat Upazila Project Implementation Officer Shirshendu Puro Kayastha said, Stocks have been kept in the hands of those concerned by purchasing cow food and dry food worth Tk 2.5 lakh for children. On the other hand, Tk 950,000 has been allocated for dry food to meet the urgent need, said Executive Officer Tahmilur Rahman.
The food packets will be delivered to the concerned people through the Upazila Administration and the UP Chairman. Besides, the real helpless and extremely poor people of Gowainghat Upazila have been allocated Tk 4 lakh 36 thousand to get help by calling 333. He further informed
