The Governing Body members of the Viqarunnisa Noon School & College are given Tk 5,000 as allowance for attending the GB meeting.
Moreover, the ‘Beautification Project Committee’ members were paid Tk 4,000 as allowance for their participation in the meeting.
Besides, the project committee junior members got Tk 3,000 and advisers Tk 4,000. Not only that, project committee chief got Tk 3, 71,000 as a convener. And they (The Governing Body Members) got Tk 5,000 for their participation in the closing meeting.
Guardian Nazrul Islam informed it to Ministry of Education and GB president over the issue saying that although it was supposed to cost Tk 5,000 per meeting, each member is taking Tk 5,000 per meeting. In the adjourned meeting, each member received an honorarium of Tk 5,000 per day.
Replying a query Viqarunnisa Noon School & College Governing Body’s former President and presently Ministry of Land Secretary Md Mustafizur Rahman said ‘I can’t say anything, because the investigation is going on. I have informed the Ministry about the matter. The ministry is investigating, I have nothing to say at the moment. ‘
Viqarunnisa Noon School & College Principal Professor Qamrun Nahar said ‘I have asked the convener of the project committee in writing for bill-vouchers against the cost. The Department of Education Engineering and the Board of Education have been informed in writing as the bill-vouchers have not been submitted within the stipulated time.
When asked over the issue, former Principal of Viqarunnisa Noon School & College Professor Fouzia Rezwan said ‘Tk 5,000 would have been paid in advance with the approval of the governing body. They get honors in that continuity. ‘
Asked about the honors of the members of the Beautification Project Committee, Professor Fauzia said, “They get the honors only with the approval of the governing body.”
