Giving top priority to the mosquito control task, Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) on Thursday announced the proposed budget for 2019-20 fiscal year amounting to Tk 3,057.24 crore.
Tk 49.30 crore has been allocated for mosquito control, which is 182 per cent higher than last year’s allocation of the money.
DNCC Mayor Atiqul Islam announced the budget at his office in the city’s Gulshan-2 on Thursday.

Corporation faced severe criticism for their failure to prevent a massive outbreak of mosquito-borne disease dengue as it claimed 57 lives so far, according to official data of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The DNCC fixed a revenue income of Tk 1106.40 crore and revenue expenditure of Tk 551.40 crore.
It also proposed the maximum allocation of Tk 2,335.74 crore in non-development sector and Tk 551.40 crore for revenue expenditure.
